This study will test a 24-month multi-component intervention designed to increase physical activity, reduce sedentary practices and promote healthy diets among preteens who obtain orthodontia care. The intervention is based on the Behavioral Ecological Model (BEM), where interacting physiological, environmental, and cultural contingencies select behavior.

Hookah lounges are spreading at an increasing rate across the United States. This is alarming since hookah lounges maybe a mean of initiating tobacco addiction among young adults. Hookah smoking is a centuries-old tobacco use method in which smoke passes through a partially filled water container. The tobacco used in hookah smoking is a mixture of crude types of tobacco fermented with molasses and fruits.
